Darken Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I wonder what rom1,rom2 and erom bios use for while the emulator work fine without it????
Darken Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 What rom1 and rom2? Elaborate.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>rom1.bin rom2.bin erom.bin the bios that pcsx2 ask for when you run it
Agozer Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 No, it just requires the SCPH-XXXXXX BIOS to be in the right folder. Those other files are created after you configure the system settings. The BIOS runs almost full speed with sound on my machine (the SSE2 build with the SSE2 DX9 hardware plugin).
CKemu Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 The only 'ROM' you need is rom0 aka the main BIOS file 4MB (4096KB). ROM1,2, EROM are not needed 'yet'. ROM2, may never be needed, except for the chinese BIOS as it contains various special characters needed. PCSX2 automatically generatas NVM (New Version Memory) and MEC when you configure the BIOS through PCSX2 for the first time.
Agozer Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Great to see someone who knows what he's talking about.
Darken Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 Great to see someone who know what he's talking about. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>What you mean BOB.....
Agozer Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Great to see someone who knows what he's talking about. What you mean BOB..... CKEmu has been PCSX2 beta tester for god knows how long, and is responsible for the site design, among other things. So it's quite safe to assume that he knows more about the emulator in general than I do.
Drakonite Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 PCSX2 automatically generatas NVM (New Version Memory) and MEC when you configure the BIOS through PCSX2 for the first time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh, you mean NonVolatile Memory, don't you?
