Cominus Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 They cancelled school today for us to that some refuges could stay in our gyms and stuff.
Gryph Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Our school is cancelled today too! I love 3 day weekends.
Lucandrake Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 gaaa I just came back from shool.... funny how everyone down here was acting as if this wasn't the worst of hurricane seasons when we were warned months before summer :s
Gryph Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 It's raining quite hard now and very windy. I hope the power doesn't go out.
Lucandrake Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 gluck grypgh, when rita came by here there wasn't even rain :s
Robert Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 On the news just now it showed New Orleans flooded again because a makeshift levee broke. They said that they expect a years rain to fall in a day. Rita came ashore on the Texas/Louisiana border in the middle of oil refining country.
Gryph Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 A few levees broke not too far from here actually. But they are bayou levees so they're not a big deal. We're just getting more rain right now, nothing special.
EmanX Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 i feel srry for those people and our government is soo screwed up for real...
OverlordMondo Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 (edited) Rita victims should have better luck than Katrina victims though, because the government has learned from past mistakes. Edited for clarity. Edited September 26, 2005 by OverlordMondo
