stjames
Try to mix in as many systems as possible: Here are my choices, with systems: 1: Bards Tale 1 on C64 2: Donkey Kong on the Colecovision 3: Pirates for the C64, Apple, and Amiga 4: B-52 bomber on the Intellivision 5: M.U.L.E. on various systems......awesome game. DreamCastLover
In no particular order M.U.L.E (1983) - Agreed. The daddy of all strategy games. Respect it Bard's Tale (1985) Legend of Zelda (1986) Sid Meier's Pirates (1987 I think) Tetris (1986) - The best game ever. I could have chosen about 30 others though. game0guy
The origional Railroad Tycoon was an awesome game, epecially on my old mac Plus, But I don't remember if it fits the pre-1988 requirement, maybe someone couold help me on that. Operation:Desert Storm by bungie (makers of halo) was also a really good old mac game, But I can't remember if it was pre-1988 either. for some really good old mac games(abandonware) check here at the macintosh garden

I'm pretty sure the PC version is pre-1988... 1. Railraod Tycoon (1 is MUCH better then 2, IMO) 2. Civilization ( The first was the best, onyl got worse with age) 3. Tetris 4. Zelda 5. Pacman (Ah, the years of my life i have lost/am losing..)
Ditto Much
Ports of CallMission ImpossibleBubble Bobble (brilliant game)Ghouls 'n' GhostsFarey Tale Adventure (Although I'm tempted to through in TV Sports Basketball, a very under rated game, and The Three Stooges (Cinemaware / Mindscape) was also under rated ) Oh yeah the Bards Tale was boring even compared to Ports of Call. Sultan
Defnately Pirates! was my favorite computer game back then. Most of the others I played were text based Zork type games. Oh and Oregon Trail! Non PC games, I would say Pitfall, Galaga, Mega Man, Dragon Warrior, and... Lode Runner
