hi_resurrection Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I'm interested to see how emulation fans play their games. From Street Fighter to Galaga, from SNES to Zinc. How do you like games to come across? I HAVE to use the sharpest possible image, but I also like scanlines from time to time. Vote here.
Agozer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I'm quite fond of Super 2XSaI filter or the HQxx filter (when they work without slowdown). VisualBoy Advance with HQ2x is a treat to the eyes.
James Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 No filters and it does not seem blured to me. maybe my eyes are good. Anyway the old arcade are not meant for that sort thing.
Diso Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I don't even use those things. I think the game is fine the way the emulator shows it to me. Woot for default settings.
Nusumenai Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I usually leave the default settings, or sharpen them a bit. I run it of TV-OUT most of the time, because consoles game don't look too pretty running of a monitor.
Weirdy Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I usually don't use any, but if the game is extremely blocky, I'll use simple interpolation or hq2x or scale 2x (I don't like the 'blurry' look)
ken_cinder Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Usually Super 2x Sai, I'd much rather an older game be made to look better.Theres nothing "nostalgic" about scanlines, especially on a PC monitor where they look horribly overkill compared to a real TV, where you can barely notice them.
iq_132 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I'm a fan of the HQ/LQ filters (HQ2X, HQ4X, etc) and usually run games windowed.
floopy Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I like Final Burn Alpha's new experimental blitter. I use the cubic filtering with either light smoothing or strong sharpening (depending on the game). Pretty cool. The h2x filters are nice, but I can't use h2x4 on very many games cause my comp is a bit on the slow side.
