PS2 Skips during DVDs

I dont know if this is because im using DVD+Rs or what, but my PS2 skips alot when i play DVDs, its not to the point where its unwatchable, but it seems like it skips when there is a high bitrate needed, but i havent actually checked the bitrates. It skips like.5 seconds each skip, and it will be like playing perfectly for large portions of the movie and then randomly have a few skips.

 

Im using Imation 2.4X DVD+Rs BTW. Purple bottom.

some ps2's don't like +r media unless you're able to set the bitsetting to DVD-ROM but even then its 50/50 chance of it working good.

 

best to use -r's for ps2

alright thats what i thought, i really need an Xbox DVD remote but i feel stupid paying 30 for one....ebay i guess

ALL modded ps2 that I know of hate the DVD-R and can only be used with dvd+r. I think it may be the discs you are using. You should at least try with 4x maxell or memorex or some sort.

some of my games jumped/froze until i used DVD Decrypter to burn them at the lowest speed of 1x

 

Only takes 20-30min to burn and the games dont jump at all now

neomaster thats the other way around, ps2 likes -R's best while few like +R's.

 

problem could be caused by cheap media as well so avoid buying princo, khypermedia type crap discs and use good media like ritek/ridata, verbatim, anf fuji film (made in japan ones)
