BrOkEn ArRoW_29 Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 My computer just restarted itself for no reason and now I have lost a lot of my bookmarks. Somebody please help me with this because I have so many and don't want to lose them. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Agozer Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 There is no way to get them back unless you made a backup. Fatal Rose had the same problem a while back. Lesson: Always backup your bookmarks.
BrOkEn ArRoW_29 Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 Please, you can't be serious!?! There has got to be some way.
Weirdy Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 look in the hidden application folders. There should be a html file that contains all your book marks somewhere
Agozer Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 look in the hidden application folders. There should be a html file that contains all your book marks somewhereIs there? Are you absolutely sure?
Weirdy Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 (edited) They should be there. This same thing happend to me in June. I searched all over the "documents and settings" folder should be in "directoryname:\Documents and Settings\<ownername>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vvdy28if.default" Edited November 6, 2005 by Weirdy
BrOkEn ArRoW_29 Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 I looked in there. Everything is all there but randomly all my bookmarks from the letter N on got deleted.
Agozer Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Seems that the deleting is sometimes random and sometimes it wipes everything.
BrOkEn ArRoW_29 Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 So there is absolutely no way of getting my bookmarks back?
Wizard Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Word of advice, always back up your bookmarks (and anything related to FireFox in general) regularly. This happened to me MORE then once.
Agozer Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 So there is absolutely no way of getting my bookmarks back? No. What's gone is gone.
