A WOMAN gave birth to a baby she never knew she was carrying within moments of being admitted to hospital with suspected kidney stones.

Helen Smitham, 25, of Westfield, Workington, was taken to a general ward at the West Cumberland Hospital on Christmas Eve after complaining of severe stomach pains.

The shock arrival caught everyone on the hop, including nurses on the K ward, and Helen’s mum Jean Skelly ended up delivering the baby – her first grandchild – with staff nurse Janice Talbot in a treatment room.

Woah, this woman must have had her head up her ass on this one. And her Doctor's must have been some cheap HMO retards. That should never ever happen.

I think there's a really good reason as to why that picture on the web site doesn't show us the rest of her.

I mean, how heavy do you have to be to not even know that you're pregnant? :)

I suppose there's an "eating for two" quip to be made here, but this really isn't good, she could have been smoking or something not knowing she was pregnant.

...another reason for press to avoid giving full details; which, in this case, would probably make her look even worse

This sort of reminds me of my old Biology teacher. She was nuts.

She thought that she was getting fat because her stomach started bulging. Turned out to be a huge-ass tumor.
