for consoles nothing beats the real system, but for the amiga (without a compatible monitor), emulation is much better unless. The pixel definition on a pc monitor is much better than a tv and it really makes a difference with some games.

But i would never have been able to play all the stuff like neo geo and some snes games that never made it to england without ROMs so i like both but for that great feeling you cant beat a factory wrapped copy of the wind waker!
