Shibathedog Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 For some reason no matter what router im using (Linksys BEFW11S4, or Linksys WRT54GS) i can only get a max of 1700 downstream, when im supposed to be getting 4000 downstream or something like taht. so wtf!? Ive tried a crapload of things, but i THINK theres some kind of wireless interference, because the wired works, Do you think High gain antennaes would work? or what should i do!?
Madman Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 afaik the fastest speed achievable is 11 MBit by wireless lan if your hardware supports the standard.
iganokage Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I think the 11Mb/s is only a limitation of the B protocol, if you are using G it should be up to 54Mb/s...

Shibathedog Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 yep, my router (now running DD-WRT) is always getting 48-54 connection speed, but still poopy internet (It randomly goes to 11 sometimes though, but after i hit refresh its fine, should i turn off B support entirely and see if that helps?
