That is scary! The funny thing is that no one really noticed it! In fact, if you hadn't pointed it out; I doubt I would have ever found out about this fact.

How about this: We've borrowed enough money from Saudi Arabia so that if they suddenly wanted to have it all back at one time they could collapse our entire national economy. Of course that would have severe impact on the world and it'd be very unintelligent to do so, but if they really wanted to they could.

 

And don't forget that Saudi Arabia has essentially been proven to harbor "terrorists" against the US, and the reasons we never hear the goventment say anything about them is because of how much money we owe them and that they have tooooons of natural oil deposits in their land.

 

As a country we are up crap creek and I honestly do not belive we'll ever be able to get out of it for about a century.

Yes, I was about to ask how 5% meant the whole country too. I thought the Japanese were still in a recession. The idea that the Israelis could own that much of America sounds like something that Hamas would say...
