phillyman
Its been years since i touched HTML.......probably 2001 was the last time.....anyways i notice at the bottom of the 1emulation webpage is an Invision link....i was wondeing about this Does the Admin of this website have to hardcode the modules into the HTML of this homepage.......or does the Invision Portal software basically like you create a dynamic website.....picking and choosing which modules show up on the front page I noticed GBATemp has the same type of setup......thanks for any explanations
ken_cinder
Mods are added by manually altering the PHP code in the respective files needed for the mod. It really depends on the mod and it's author though. Some of the better mods have "installers" that will do some or most of the work for you. For the most part though, you at least require minor editing to be done by hand.IPB isn't like PHPNuke for instance, PHPNuke is just a backend that requires modules to be anything. IPB is message board software, all the extras are just that...extras.I'd be willing to bet the IPB team is working towards something more like PHPNuke though.
