i think its Hitachi, Hitachi makes TONS of products they are rebranded sometimes more than once. Same with Mitsubishi.

Right now i have two Seagate drives and a Maxtor in my other computer, I think Maxtors tend to last longer but i like the performance of the Seagates better.

yeah and they are all going to come with new connector standards which means more upgrades >_<

I think we are either about to hit, or are entering the beginning of one of those periods of time that comes along every once in awhile where its next to impossible to keep your PC up to date.

Whatchoo talkin 'bout Willis? That period of time is ALWAYS!

You can go out and buy/build a new PC, and next week every god damn part in it is outdated. It's always been that way and always will be.

Being outdated is only bad if you can't take care of your PC and the software contained within. I'm like way outdated and I can still keep up, because I don't have a huge junkpile of crap putting undue strain on my machine.

While i agree with you for the most part, You do have to admit that there are times where it is ALOT easier to keep up to date than others.

Like when processors where stuck at 3.2GHz for like...ever

and when the ATi Radeon 9800 was the best for a long ass time, same with the GeForce 4.

Maybe i just look foward to the slowdowns in technology advances because i dont have the money to keep up with it at the moment so it gives me time to kind of catch up.

Ive only had a completley (or at least close to) up to date speed machine PC ONCE in my life, and it was a 166MHz slightly upgraded Dell. (in fact im still using the nice monitor that came with it attached to my old Dell Laptop right now....500MHz)

My fastest computer right now is 2.4GHz
