Anyone have any cable tweaks? I have comcast high speed internet.

I already used CableNut, TCPOptimizer and Advanced System Optimizer. But im not sure what the setting should be. Im trying to optimize my internet speed.

TCPOptimizer should optimize everything automatically. At least for me it did.

 

I don't use it anymore though.

when i download form usernet/newsgroups.. i dont get the speed i should..

 

I have giganews and i use newsleecher..

 

The speed jumps up and down..

Maxes out at 700+ kb/s and then drops to 0 and back up again?

are you using wireless? I have this annoying problem where i cant hit my max down speed on wireless but i can on wired.

Just plain old comcast / giganew..

 

webpages load fine..

I use newsleecher, newsgroups are cool but its annoying when one of the fileparts is missing or you have to search for every part or something, i dunno im kind of a n00b at newsgroups

nope my router is a toshiba pcx1100...

 

what are your setting on newsleecher?

 

im using v3.5 beta 2 and have 10 connections..

 

if you use giganews whats speeds do you get and what port you using to conect.

i usually top out at like 350 on wireless and like 800 on wired. Im using newsleecher and what settings do you mean?

 

and whats giganews? im using my ISPs newsgroups server which is probably a stupid idea.

 

and this speed thing doesnt just happen with newsgroups though its with everything.
