infernoDS
I was looking into buffering it to the GBAMP and playing it from there, but that was partly working, I had to download the whole file first after which playing was possible, but streaming would be possible eventually, in different blocks, but as mp3 playback takes a lot of the DS as it is, I doubt that downloading alongside it is feasible. But we'll see.

But we'll see.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then again you could have a server program that decodes the mp3 and then sends raw data or something to the ds. fischju
but then you have to worry about bandwidth
PickleHead
It's always something isn't it! I guess you'd just have to find a balance between the two...
tssf
What are you doing, InfernoDS? DPG streaming? Why use MP3? Wouldn't MP2 be a lot less taxing on the CPU to decode? Or hell, GSM would be fine as well. The PC-side server should be doing most of the hard work. I imagine it takes longer to encode than to decode, or am I wrong? o.o;
davos1
Its better to use a format which is less in size.
infernoDS
Ah well, we'll see what comes to this. Mp3 was quite easy for me as even fragmented pieces of a mp3 file work nice, and I haven't really thought about other formats (I mean, I don't suppose mp4 (good audio quality + small size) (aac etc.) has been ported yet has it?).We'll see... We'll see...
PickleHead
How taxing is it to decode ogg?
fischju
how much ram would something like this use......i bet if you got the right format fiels could be sent faster than they are played and the rest can be buffered
davos1
I think its better to load the whole song into the RAM. It would be faster but there will be like a 3MB limit (Unless there sent in like 2MB fragments). Or the song could be transfered into the GBAMP, SC or M3 CF. infernoDS
The GBAMP bit was my idea as well.
