Mooney Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Ebay? I wouldn't trust the quality of the drives on Ebay... but that's just paranoid little me.
ken_cinder Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 You don't buy from some newbie on Ebay with 0 feedback. This 5 year old PC that is just becoming "outdated" enough to not be able to play the latest games, is 100% Ebay bought parts save for the hard drives in it.When I built it, it was the best that money could buy, and the proof is in the fact that it can handle Doom 3 without any modifications necessary to get it to run.I'll also stress like I have before, I know how to maintain and run my system to keep myself 3 strides ahead of the average user. When your system is "technically" twice as fast as mine, mine is truly twice as fast as yours.
ken_cinder Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 I've decided I'm going with a 3700+ instead, wants the 1MB cache and it's not much of a price difference.
Mooney Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Good choice. But also consider a jump to the 4000 series.
