Who else is going to buy the dvd even though we played the avi over and over again in our home computers after it got released in japan?

 

Wal-Mart (it's $10 cheaper here, $25 for dvd, $30 for psp, -$10 at walmart)

Personally I only watched this once and wasn't impressed overall, mostly because of how highly everyone else seems to regard it.

 

If I ever come across a DVD and UMD pack though I might get it purely for the lack of UMD discs I currently own.

it came out ok at best (way better then the other ff movie that was released in theaters) but i can't really say its worth to buy but more worth to rent.

I saw it a LONG time ago with subs back when it came out in Japan. It was not that good. Action was fun, but everything else was soooo rushed and poorly written.

Technical Marvel, but all I respect I had for the movie left between the first North American Date announcement all the way until Feb '06

I watched it at a friend's house and didn't know what was going on until he explained it to me. I didn't think it was too bad, but I wasn't "WHOA! OMG!! THAT WAS THE MOST AMAZING crap I'VE EVER SEEN!"

No buy for me.

You can't except someone to undestand anything about Advent Children unless they've played Final Fantasy VII from start to finish and understood the storyline (and the not so obvious stuff inbetween the lines) well.

 

Granted, some of the stuff in the movie doesn't make sense even to the "veterans" at first, so it's best to watch it at least twice.

 

This movie was intended for the real fans of the game, and it was never meant to be for those who've only briefly played the game or haven't played it at all.

I've beaten it twice. As a movie, it sucks. Fun action, but that's it.

hmm, compared to the japanese version... the dub was.... medicore. I'm not saying it was bad, but it wasn't a perfect dub. You know like golden boy dub, but a samurai champloo dub.

 

Besides that, everything else stayed the same, except for when tifa tells cloud those weird double phrases at there place after waking up (it sounds completly stupid here).

 

O and did the hankerchief that this boy drops at the beggining of the movie had blood in it becuase I remember it having some blood while this one had none...
