Safe mode not working

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm trying to start my PC in safe mode to get rid of some spyware (SurfSideKick) that is always "In Use" and cannot be deleted.

When I hold F8 it just takes me to a screen asking which boot device I want to use. I'm given a choice between floppy drive, cd, etc. I don't know which to choose so I just press escape and Windows starts normally (not in safe mode).

I have also tried going to the settings menu, but this is just a complicated menu for configuring bioses and IDE drives and there is no mention of safe mode.

Is there something else I could try? Is there another way to get into safe mode?

Thank you.
