Chevy787
I'm having trouble with my dreamcast, it will not play any new games I burn onto a cd-r. It plays other cd-r's I burned, but all the sudden it just plays it does'nt want to play any new ones. 1. I'm sure it's not the Sony cd-r's I've been using because, I was using them for dreamcast prior to this and they worked fine. 2. My dreamcast was manufactured in 1999 (no new bios) 3. The cd's that I burned work fine on chankast and one even has echelon sb intro. 4. It's not the format of the discs either... I tried nero, alcohol and others. 5. It's not my cd burner, I tried with both my computers and still same problem. 6. I tried cleaning my laser with a Q-tip, I even tried Shibathedog's GD-ROM Alignment Guide. So if anyone can help me I would appreciate it Edited July 13, 2006 by Chevy787
Shibathedog
So your saying that you had some burned games, that used to work, and no longer work? and any new games that you burn wont work either?

Shibathedog
O_o where the heck are you getting games that so many where currupt? (BTW dont post a site link or anything like that its against forum rules...which makes this hard to answer i know)
Chevy787
Well I just tried reburning 18 wheeler(.nrg) and it worked this time (I tried burning the image with nero and alcohol, but neither worked, so I tried mounting in deameon tools and copying the virtual disk with alcohol and it worked)...but I also tried reburning some others that way and they did'nt work. For alcohol I put the write method to: "RAW DAO" and it seems to be alot more reliable now I've found out that .nrg don't work well and just stick with .mds or .cdi
Shibathedog
yeah, always burn in RAW/DAO mode, nrg should work fine if i ever had an NRG that didnt work, the way i fixed it was by using an app that converted it to CDI (i think) and then burning it with alcohol
