is there any way i can get copied psone games to work for ps2? or do i have to mod it?

You usually need a bootdisc tailored for PSX games or a mod chip that allows both PS2 and PSX backups.

any certain disc you can reccomend i download for that? I can boot the burned bootdisc with swapmagic

I have been successful at playing copied PSX games on my PS2 using the PS2 swap trick method. Just use a PSOne Gameshark or Codebreaker for the swap trick instead of the Swap Magic disc.

 

Also most PSX games that have anti-mod protection will work on the PS2 using this swap trick. I know because I've Spyro - Year of the Dragon with this trick and the only side effect was a slow initial load time. Other then that it worked fine.
