Mame Help

i can't figure out how to work roms in MAMe.....can someone please send me a tutorial or tell me how to do it?

Where are you having trouble? Can you not get anything at all to work? Is it giving any error messages? What games are you trying to get to work? Can you atleast get the PONG game that is included (is it still included?) to work?

 

Here's what you need:

 

1.) A MAME build that you like.

2.) BIOS for the system you wish to emulate. Don't ask where to find it here. Place it in the "roms" directory or set the BIOS directory to wherever they are stored.

3.) Place the ROM files in the "roms" folder. Please don't ask where to download those either. The ROM sets have to be supported by MAME or else they will not work.

Again, what MAME build are you using?

yeah, we can't help you without knowing which build you're using.

 

some of the builds require extra dll files and such, and some of them might be misconfigured.

Its mame32u901....i figured it out except that i'm wondering if its possible to play the games with a keyboard or do i have to get a joystick.

Right click on the game and go to properties. There should be a controller or input device tab. Make sure it's set to keyboard.

Start a game, hit TAB --> Configure Controls
