How about reinstalling your graphics card drivers. Search the net, there are several tweak sites that tell you how to change the actual bitdepth of the desktop and how to enable/disable the build information. James Posted August 8, 2006 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Remove Windows Version from DesktopPosted 10/9/2004 by TweakXP Member1.Click on "Start", then "Run.." and type "regedit". 2.Navigate to the registry key: <br>"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop". 3.Once there, locate the DWORD value "PaintDesktopVersion". 4.Right click on it and select Modify. "0" removes Windows version from desktop. "1" adds Windows version to desktop. Reboot Also a program called TweakNow PowerPack 2006 can remove or add desktop version . Shibathedog Posted August 8, 2006 Author Share Posted August 8, 2006 XP kept crashing on this computer because the mobo is fried With Windows 2000 i can run anything but games, as soon as i try and open CS/UT2k4/Painkiller/whatever it crashes whenever i get a new mobo off ebay ill probably put XP on it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
