Haldrie
From what I know the slim PS2 uses a door instead of a try. If you can find out where the trigger is that tells the PS2 that the door is closed and jam it in the close position (usually by forcing it to stay pressed down) then you can perform a swap trick using a PSX version of either the Codebreaker or Gameshark cheating disks. I have had success in player copied PSX games in a full PS2 using a similar method that prevented the PS2 from realizing that the CD tray had been ejected. As far as playing copied PS2 games you will have to use some other disc although I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell what it's called. You can talk about how to play "backups." Just not where to get them.
