Madman Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Well, as there is no Wii forum yet ( hint hint ) i post this here: Will the Wii be compatible to the Gamecube ?I read so on different sites, but when i go to the nintendo website, there is no such statement: Wii will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Virtual Console also will feature a "best of" selection from Sega Genesis titles and games from the TurboGrafx console (a system jointly developed by NEC and Hudson). It also will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets. So will or will it not be ?
Daeval Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I believe it will be. I think it even has gamecube controller ports underneath the flap on the top.
iq_132 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Yes, backwards compatible for sure. It has gamecube ports and afaik supports gc memcards (and a few other flash types).
drumans Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Just go to nintendo or ign's website that has the info, and I think its backwards compatible.
BlackKnight Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I also can confirm it does, just cbf getting links.
