Mooney
Well, Japan has done it, they've beaten everyone else again. They have created the new fastest computer ever. Weighing in at 1.4 petaflops per second, roughly 1.4 quadrillion calculations per second, the Riken MDGrape-3 has claimed that title for itself. This new computer is a whole 3 times faster than the former fastest ever, the IBM Blue Gene/L. This new computer's power comes from 200 processing units, each housing 24 MDGrape-3 chips running at about 200 gigaflops. Official website: http://mdgrape.gsc.riken.jp/modules/tinyd0/ Thoughts?
