Shibathedog
Is DX10 still going to be Vista Only? I mean i know someone will probably get it to work on XP, but can anyone estimate how long that will take? I dont really want to bother with DX10 video cards yet if i have to upgrade to Vista, because i dont want to upgrade to Vista anytime soon. Plus this would give me a good excuse to save some money and get a DX9 Card.
Agozer
AFAIK yes, DirectX10 is Vista only. Then again, I'm often wrong. This is one of the reasons why there are two versions of Crysis being developed simultaneously.
Gryph
DX10 is Vista only. I wouldn't get a DX10 card just yet. By the time games that use DX10 come out, the 8800s will already be old. Might as well get something that's smaller, uses less energy, adn produces less heat. And I'd also wait for ATI's offerings since rumors are that its uber powerful. Lucandrake
I wouldn't get DX10, since it doesn't run back support for any of the younger DX's.
Gryph
Vista comes with legacy DX9 support.
Shibathedog
there are two versions of Crysis? Will they both come in the same box? Well my plan now is to wait for ATi's DX10 cards (which come out at the end of January ive heard) and then buy an ATi Radeon X1950XT or X1950XTX, because they will probably be cheaper by then. Its probably too early to get a DX10 card as the ones out now will become poopy pretty fast. it would be awesome if the X1950XTX dropped down to 250-300ish, but thats probably wishful thinking
Wizard
Hurrr, then I'll prolly just plainly upgrade my comp to PCI-E with the lastest offerings now.
Shibathedog
yeah, i remember when my friend got the GeForce 6800 when it first came out and we thought it was the most amazing thing ever, that quickly turned to crap. Ill wait on any DX10 stuff
