Is there any way you can find out what dvd-rom drive an xbox 360 has,just buy looking at the box for it in a store?.

I heard the hitachi drives are alot quieter and load faster than the samsung drives.

There really is no way to tell unless you connect the 360 to the power and hit the eject button to see which drive it is.

just buy a used one, ive seen people ask to see the drive before all the time (sometimes they just display it with the drive open) and they where fine with it.

 

I mean it comes with a guarantee anyway, plus its cheaper, theres not much to lose.
