Noah
Hello, Ive been playing around with Chankast. Out of six ROMS, only two will load. 4 of them are CDI files, Power Stone 2 and Jedi Power Battles both work, but Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Virtual On, both CDI files, don't load. I either get an error message as soon as the dreamcast logo goes away and the game would normally start, or the Dreamcast starts up like there was no disc/rom, bringing me to the Dreamcast's menu. The other ROMS I have are Crazy Taxi 2 which is a MDS and Ikaruga is an CCD. These ones don't load, but go to the Dreamcast's menu screen. Do I need to convert those other Image files into CDI files, and if so how? Why would even some of the CDI files not be loading and giving me an error screen. I'f tried putting the Capcom hack on and off. I've tried extracting the ROMS over and over again. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it so much. -Noah
Agozer
It shouldn't be required to start converting CD image files between different formats. Most of the time you are doing yourself disservice, although there have been reports that some have managed to make games working by changing the format. Then again, I haven't had problem booting the games I have, and they are in a variety of formats. If you are getting an ioControl error, the only thing sane thing you can do is to use Daemon Tools 2.39, if at all possible. If Chankast keeps asking to input date/time over and over again, your Dc_flash.bin file is corrupt. You need to replace it.
Noah
Thanks for the help. I got Deamon Tools now and it works a lot better then Alcohol. But still, some CDI games won't run without giving me an error mesage. I ended up having to burn the cdi games onto a cd, then ripping them back onto my HD as MDS files, now they run fine. Annoying, but at least it works.
