Alpha Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 DropDeadEd's Guide for obtaining a valid License Key: Call MicrosoftInsist you need a new key because you lost the packaging.Insist, and reinforce. You now have a working license key for Vista. Worth a shot, I guess. Might've had more of an inclination to try if I was at all enticed by Vista.Seeing as how Dell just realized that having all their latest Dell Computers only with Vista on them siginificantly stunted sales..... Just recently, they decided to bring back the option to install Windows XP on them again. It was a very smart move IMO. Vista = Windows ME 2007
L.S.D Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 No one is touching Vista here. Even the pirated copy which was easily available.

I have the RTM version which means I can use any version of Vista and install it. Obviously I went for the Ultimate version.. it's collecting dust on my partition at the moment.

Why have a flashy front end that really isn't all that much better than XP's and also eats up half the power of your brand new machine while idling? I'm playing C&C3 at the moment and its RAM requirement more than doubles with Vista installed. Try explaining to new buyers how that makes having Vista a good idea.

Wasn't the RTM release a beta version of Vista? edit: Nevermind, I think the RTM is what is bundled with the HP/Dell desktops.

The updates fix it anyway so you have essentially the same version.
