screensaver not working

In my friends computer the screensaver refuses to work. We believe the problem might be a program that runs in the background and stops it from working. Had anyone experienced that kind of problem before?

Some programs will do that, it happens occasionally on my machine here.

 

I never bothered tracking it down because it doesn't worry me.

I just end some unimportant processes in the task manager
