coreslump
I recently decided to create menus in my dashboard of choice (EvoX) to launch roms directly. Scrolling through long lists of games using different emulator interfaces is a pain. I have gone through every game for NES, SNES, N64, PSX, MAME, Genesis, C64 and I picked out all my favorites (~500 games) and organized them into categories. I now have a great hierarchical menu! First problem is that Evox can only launch games using a command line. Xport emulators use a different mechanism. I developed a simple launcher XBE that takes command line arguments and launches an Xport emulator. Second problem is that the N64 and MAME emulators don't have ANY command line launching support. I created a patch for Surreal and MAMEoX that add this support. You can get the launcher tool and these two patches here...http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=620771 At this point I found MAMEoX128 by HK$. I like it a lot, the features are great! But it does not support launching a rom using command line arguments. It seems that the source code is not available, so I am unable to add this support. I am at the mercy of HK$ to provide the source or to add the feature himself. It is really a pretty simple feature to implement. I will gladly contribute any code necessary to make it easier for HK$. Does anyone know how to contact HK$?
Robert
Thanks for the news. <_> Haven't seen hk$ around for several months now. If there's nothing in his profile then I guess you're out of luck.
coreslump
Well, I've PMed him, but still no sign. I'd really like to be able to launch MAME roms from the dashboard!
