You might also want to check your CDVD Plugin settings as the default plugin that is set is for loading images so you have to choose a different plugin if you want to load from an actual disc. Also the first thing you should always do once you get a bios is run it without a disc so you can set it up and format your memory cards in order to use them as the games will not format them for you like the PSX games do.
