Man I hope this does not drive up the price of Hd's in the US. Seagate is one that is in the investigation and I use them a lot. Drives are so cheap now it would be a shame if they go up.

The US patent office needs SERIOUS reform, and people who file suit/complaints based on generalized patents should be dragged into the center of a town/city and shot in the head.

Patents are there to protect real ideas, not for exploitation in vague terms.

huh, I didn't know people imported Hard Drives. Interesting, never thought of that.

 

How much cheaper can you get them at other places?

I have a grudge against Seagate, too many drives failing on me, I just don't buy them anymore.

 

Anyway I'm sure this will be worked out before it really effects anything, especially with the massive stocks resellers probably have right now.

 

IJTF is right though, Almost every other day I get some news story in my RSS feeds about some asshat flocking around with patents like this because they want some money or some BS.
