Does WiFI work with all Roms?

I have a European Nintendo DS with a DS Firelink flashcard. I can get WI FI working on a Mariokart DS Rom but no others (& yes I own the cart as well as using the rom). Is there any reason for this do most Romfiles not work online?

Probably something to do with the card you are using. My R4 plays everything online perfectly.

you can go play online fine.

but u can't host for local wifi, u can be a client tho
