Bambi Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I've been looking for a few hours for a new theme for my PSP, I found a few but.... In the instructions for each of them it says installing this could brick my system. Is it just the warning like the one given when you install a different firmware or is it a new warning because themes are really that dangerous to use?
Kloplop321 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 well, right now there is a glitch(for unknown reasons) in the newest M33 firmware that causes something wrong with the USB connection on the Flash0-4. I don't know if one is made yet, but if you find one, please post it.As in, a PBP that copies and replaces the files in the Flash from a part on the memory card, which would be safer than doing USB
Bambi Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 I guess I'll hold off and keep the old original psp theme
BlackKnight Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Themes are only dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. What firmware are you on? If its not one of the latest which has official theme support, look for a plugin called CXMB. It will let you use themes from a memory stick- avoiding the need to flash anything and risk bricks / damage etc.
Bambi Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 3.52 M33 is what I'm using, Not sure if it's the latest or not though
ksonic1055 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Its not THE latest, but its pretty up to date... would CXBM work with 3.71 M33-2?
BlackKnight Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 CXMB works for all custom firmwares, and Id say use it both you guys. Takes all the risk out of themes / customising your PSP in general.
