No$GBA pokemon diamond movement error

im running pokemon diamond on No$GBA 2.6 and has been working perfectly for me up till now. I saved the game as normal at the entrance to the amity square thing and closed the emulator. Then when i turned it back on im unable to move up and down within the game. I can move left or right but not up or down. Ive tried playing around in the control set up but it didn't fix anything. Any advice with what to do

just tried to play mario and luigi partners in time and couldnt move up or down in that either so it looks like it is an issue with NO$GBA

what sort of input are you using, keyboard or joystick?
