xiphoid Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 So, I try to upload a snazzy new avatar, it's a gif, but the site will not let me. Is this becuase it is an animated gif?
xiphoid Posted September 27, 2003 Author Posted September 27, 2003 I thought the site had a size 'justifaction' facility built in. I'll tinker with it, and see what I can lose - don't want it all jerky though.
fandel Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 I see that some people have pretty big avatars.... I try looking around for the rules concerning the size of the avatar images but I couldn't. What is the max size of an avatar and signature image?
Alpha Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 Geezus.. I didn't notice this before. The max sizes were 64x64. Big thanks for notifying me. The new max size is: 120x150. That should be good enough. And the reason why some people's avatars are big is either because they are an Admin, Moderator or they picked a previously big avatar from the avatar gallery. EDIT: As for the incorrect file type problem, the only reason you should get that message is if the file is too big. The max size is 20KB.
DreamCastLover Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 My avatar is all stretched now for some reason.
ryder Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 If anyones ava showing in the wrong dimensions just reupload it; invision uses a ava resizer to show the images in the correct size but if youve had an avatar from the previous board then it doesnt have the avas size in the database which causes it to show up wrong
xiphoid Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 EDIT: As for the incorrect file type problem, the only reason you should get that message is if the file is too big. The max size is 20KB.Yeah, that does seem to be my problem on that front. It's a real shame because it is ace-ellent.
Alpha Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 Hmm.. you can always host the sig somewhere else and then paste the URL?
xiphoid Posted November 4, 2003 Author Posted November 4, 2003 Hmm.. you can always host the sig somewhere else and then paste the URL?Yep, I certainly could. I have webspace, dreamweaver and not one single clue how to set up what you describe. Anyadvice?
Alpha Posted November 4, 2003 Posted November 4, 2003 Well basically what I mean is, upload the picture to like a server. Then get the link the pic, go to avatars and settings, stick the URL and click ok. Your avatar should then show. If you can get the link to the avatar you have, I can set it up for you. Also is this a Sig or a Avatar? I kind of confused myself.
