Also, this is fairly big news for the Valve camp since previously they've had a special with ATI/AMD. Now they are partnering with the more successful of the GPU manufacturers.

I think it would have been better out 3 months ago because now a lot if not most of the potential buyers of The Orange Box have already gone out and bought it. At least with regard to them, I'm sure they would have liked a chance to sample the game before buying.

And, of course, nVIDIA for the win. I have lived and died by their cards and ATi can kiss the big one. Regards, BK.

Naw the HL1 SP demo. Uplink was a cut segment from the game.

just tried to download it after installing Steam and registering, and the Portal demo itself appears to be 6 gigs

thats messed up....

Main full version files for retail version of Portal add up to 1.1GB...

Just as weird, as the demo files as well only come up to 1.1GB.

Ok that is an AWESOME game, but it sucks so much that it's so short.

I think its good that it didn't keep going for long enough for you to get sick of it. The game mechanics and plotline would have needed a lot more good ideas to make the game any longer but still feel as fresh.

I didn't mind the shortness since its just a slice of the jam packed goodness that is Orange Box. if I payed $40 - $60 bucks for portal alone I woulda been pissed.
