I don't know much about Fidel but given Cuba's current state I'd say that, even if he had good ideas, he sure chose the wrong ways to implement them. But on the other hand, maybe he was tired of having Cuba be the U.S.'s backyard like most of the other South American countries. Por La Revolucion!
