Mame Help- General Questions

First I would like to say hello to everyone being my first post,

 

Got a couple questions here... im in the process of making a mame cabinet.

 

Ive searched the internet for awhile now before I would post some questions

 

1) Im trying to play NBA on NBC I have the CHD files and its very very slow... the same is for Gauntlent Legends.. Is there another way of emulating this game besides using another system?

2) I hear people using a hacked Mame plus plus to get Gauntlent Legends to work. Were would I get this program?

1) No. The games re slow because MAME emulates everything via software, as opposed to hardware.

 

2) Google. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

I havent been able to find mame plus plus anywhere... or the plugins... ive searched everywhere...

No.

 

The reason why MAME Plus Plus was able to play Gauntlet Legends et al was because it used ZiNc's graphics plugins (as in, hardware accelerated OpenGL or Direct3D plugins) that are understandably much faster than MAME's software-driven approach.

 

Also, the reason that you can't find MAME Plus Plus so easily is because the MAME devs issued an ultimatum to the MPP developer. Thus, the development of said build has been halted and official links removed. However, since we're on the Internet, saying "I just can't find it" is total bullshit, plain and simple.

 

You don't even have to search for the plugins, as ZiNc already has them.
