Can someone post a screen shot of the GameBoy when it is turned on without a cart in?

Sorry I know you wanted a shot but my old GameBoy is dead.

 

IIRC it was just the GameBoy text logo on the screen. It wouldn't fade until you turned the unit off.

I can post a shot but that'll have to wait for tomorrow. Why do you need it?

 

A standard boot shows a plain b/w Nintendo logo that scroll down from the top (or the bottom, I forget)of the screen and stops at the center of the screen, accompanied by a "ding" sound. After that whatever cart is in gets loaded.

 

Turn on the handheld without a cart inserted, the Nintendo logo is replaced by a black bar.

I'm looking at MESS emulation, it just shows a yellow background, and this black bar with ® after it slides down.

 

I wanted to know if the black bar is correct.
