For the first person to be working on a new version of FBA-XXX

A bit off topic - Yesterday I migrated most of my vertical shooting-up games

to a new folder and did set up new Mameox (HexEdited, of course) for them.

 

All games are rotated now - but you need t go to the IN-GAME menu and

"rotate" the general UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT commands too, Mameox changes just

the image.

 

Damn, now when I play Raiden I feel urged to physically rotate my television!

I just finished to add the sega drivers improvements (specially sound) from the last FBA release: http://www.barryharris.me.uk/article_view.php?id=92

 

It was tested very quickly ( and not test system1 drivers), but it seems to work like the PC version! B) ( i hope lol)

Gentlemen,

 

There is something strange on FBA-XXX Pro 1.28 here.

Can someone please make a test to clear my doubts?

 

There is absolutely no way of making the controller shortcuts

to work in my FBA 1.28. I tried to assign A+B to black button,

and C+D to white button, or A+B+C to white, and so on... but

they do not work.

 

If I turn off the controller shortcuts in the settings panel, the

options for shortcuts disappear from the in-game controller

settings, and if turn it on, they are back, but there is no

way to make it work.

 

So, I assume it is buggy on the current 1.28 version

just like the change Coin Button option... am I right?

 

Can someone please try to assign A+B to BLACK button as a test?

The official FBA does support CPS3 now, so why not port that code instead?

 

Personnaly i think it isn't necessary. In fact, there's already CPX3 which works pretty well, and ported FBA code to XBOX would need a lot of optimizations.

 

Moreover, add the incredible numbers of new FBA drivers to FBAxxx Pro is already a nightmare :lol::( , i prefere concentrate the work on stuff that don't exist on XBOX ( or very preliminary), like PGM :thumbsup1: , which needs like Neogeo special optimizations :banghead:

Even if it was ported it probably wouldn't run as well as CPX3 anyway, with it being a dedicated CPS3 emu, using less resources. As you said, concentrate on stuff that doesn't work then it'll be all new material for people to play with :banghead:
