Jitway
It's been almost one year since social music network Last.fm was acquired by CBS, and the site has opened "Last.fm/presents," offering original video content from prominent artists. Last.fm says this is its first attempt at providing original content altogether, and Last.fm/presents has launched with exclusive interviews with Moby, Santogold, Spoon, and Joshua Radin. A following series of "high profile musicians" is being prepared for online broadcast. Video content is being provided by CBS' Audience Network, which could be classed as a subnetwork of the television broadcaster. The network is aimed at distributing its video content to Web 2.0 sites, packaging them with in-video, pre- and post-roll, or overlaid advertisements, and providing them free of charge. The first videos on Last.fm/presents do not have any such advertisements. Last.fm adds to the already extensive list of partners in the CBS Audience Network which includes AOL, Microsoft, CNET, Comcast, Sling Media, Amazon, Yahoo, Apple, Joost, Bebo, and Brightcove. Pretty sweet some very interesting videos here that you will not see anywhere else from some some great not so well known bands. OverlordMondo
I still need to redownload last.fm after my recent reformat. I didn't use it a whole lot, really, but I'm all for crap that runs in my system tray and collects numbers.
