Do any of you sick freaks get your libido going by watching or looking at Hentai (anime porn)? I remember having to go through them stupid banner ads when I would try to enter 1Emulation in TOP50Emu years ago (before rule changes). It was utterly annoying and nasty.

 

The same goes with games. I remember back when "The Sims" came out and every one was downloading the patch to uncensor the nudity. And I know patches for other games were released as well that did the samething. Can you or anyone explain to me the significance of doing something like this?

 

Why not simply look at the real stuff? The same goes for people who buy games solely for looking at hot animated Asian girls. For example, anyone remember BMX XXX by Acclaim (before they went out of business)?

I disagree. The difference is the hentai girl is NOT REAL. You Google a woman you watch in a movie because she is a human being. You don't Google "anime actresses". Perhaps you may Google a character from a video game that you find awkwardly attractive. Either way, it's ridiculous.

 

Here's my philosophy ... if you can't find it in the real world, then its idiotic to take pleasure in it. Animations are not real. Humans are real. Therefore, it makes sense for you to take pleasure in pictures of actual human beings rather than some animated girl that would probably never exist in human form.

 

It's preposterous. Its egregious. Its outrageous!

I never said that. I actually have played the game extensively and enjoyed it because of its game play. Not only that, the character art was excellent, and so were the backgrounds. However, I thought the bouncing tits were distracting to the game and was not necessary. IMO, it was there for marketing purposes because sex (animated or not) sells. My problem is the people who actually get excited looking at the animated stuff.

Therefore, it makes sense for you to take pleasure in pictures of actual human beings rather than some animated girl that would probably never exist in human form.

Humans need fantasy- the unreal. Without it you don't have drama, stories, movies... you are left with nothing but cold hard existential realities. Are you suggesting that humans need something to be 'real' to engage with it emotionally? If nothing else, The Matrix has taught us that's not the case. And why? Because fantasy is inherently more appealing than reality- it is fashioned from human imagination for precisely the purpose of being so.

 

You can take me literally, and say that movies have real actors. But have you never cried during Finding Nemo? Never gasped at a CGI monster? Never got emotionally caught up in a cartoon? Not even as a kid?

 

Either way, you have just undermined thousands of years of mythology, literature and critical theory. In short, to link reality and pleasure is preposterous, and we aren't even getting into the metaphysics or synaesthetics of pleasure yet.

 

I don't like hentai- hell I don't even like watching anime. But to say you honestly 'don't get' the appeal is incredibly narrow-minded, and just a little self-righteous.

Good catch. I had a feeling someone would mention that. I just recently purchased a PS2 and that was one of the first games I ever noticed that went ahead and added gravity to women's breasts.

Finding Nemo? No, I did not cry watching that movie. Nor have I ever cried watching Toy Story, Jungle Book, The Beauty and the Beast, etc. ... wait most of those are probably not CGI ... but no, I have never cried watching any CGI film either.
