Ryan I'd like to hear your take on Machida - Rua tonight.

 

SPOILERS:

 

I think Shogun was ROBBED. there is no way Machida won 3 rounds. I had the fight 4-1 with Machida winning the 3rd. I think the UFC is going the way of pro boxing and that fight was fixed so the Vegas Mob wouldn't have to pay out all those 4:1 bets. I think Dana has put so much effort into selling Machida to the public that he would not let him lose this fight unless he was KOed.

 

A rematch has been announced.

 

I'd also like your thoughts on 'Rumble' Johnson coming in 6lbs over weight.

I think Shogun won too.

 

When I first watched the fight I thought it was complete robbery.

 

I re watched the fight again and played the exchanges in slow motion.

 

I still feel Shogun won however the first three rounds were EXTREMELY close. I can see why someone might give Lyoto the first three. Shogun clearly won the last two and that's not debatable imo.

I've lost all respect for Anderson Silva at this point. Maybe he and Rashad Evens can have a dance off. He seems to be more interested in dancing then fighting.

Edit: Odd but I just watched some of this tonight I think whatever we are been aired is waaaay behind current events , it was some British guy against this Canadian, the Brit had a red Mohawk, and they Canadian kept flooring him and arm locking him.

These guys are tough motherfuckers.

yeah the brit versus canadian was last months. the Canadian, Georges St Pierre is considered one of the best fighters alive.

If Anderson gassed in the third he should have finished Maia in the first or second. I think they need to force him to fight at 205. Aside from Vitor/Sonnen there is not much left a 85.

 

Props to Edgar for beating Penn, super close fight though.
