ken_cinder
First off I'd like to know......#1 If I buy a Japanese system, will it play US and/or European games as well?#2 Will it play backups un-modded or will I need to modify it? Secondly, is there anywhere besides Ebay that deals in hardware like this that is in North America? (Canada specifically would be even nicer as shipping on a system from Japan is killer)I've been looking on Ebay and the prices for systems aren't too bad, but if I can find someone who specializes in these kind of systems that I MAY be able to get one brand new off of, or possibly get a better deal from, it would be nice. solidius23
http://www.neostore.com/try this place other than that ebay is the only hope u got. after reading up on the sys a little bit i see why it didnt last long the cd load times are horrible and the system has a life of about 3 yrs. but they say kof97 rocks on it lol. hope this helps
Baseley09
THe Neostore is an option, though may be a little pricey. The forum there has a great selling/buying section with CD systems constantly changing hands, some real good sellers there. THe CDZ version doesnt not have a double speed drive, and is a dodgy system in terms of life......ive had my standard top loader for 9 years, never broken down, this is like the most solid machine ever. The load times are a annoying on newer games, well, only beat em ups like KOFs after 95, and Last Blade 1 & 2, most games are not really a problem. You can run any region on any machine, and any CDR/Back ups you like. Thses places may have cd machines. http://www.egameaddiction.com/neo_geo_cd.htmhttp://www.ncsx.com/http://www.gamechoice.com.hk/weekly_news.html Hope this helps

ken_cinder
.....I don't want an AES. I'm collecting every CD based console I can.And as far as I know, there is no difference in the games, but CDDA audio on the Neo CD is certainly better than chip based DSP audio. btw thanks for the info Baseley, looks like I'm gonna end up buying one off Ebay. All these websites with units for sale want too much for them. Baseley09
And as far as I know, there is no difference in the games, but CDDA audio on the Neo CD is certainly better than chip based DSP audio.Yo its tru, 90% of games have remixed/studio recorded soundtracks, that verge on the amazing, litterally best ever. A lot of games have extras, some is just art etc, but say Turf Masters has a whole extra course, Metal Slug has combat school modes, some of the crap it quite worthy.
