Metal Slug may get an HD remake

SNK may soon be trading in its "rocket lawncher" for a high-def upgrade, as IGN reports that the company is considering bringing an HD version of Metal Slug to consoles. If true, the move would echo recent efforts by the company, such as with the forthcoming The King of Fighters XII, to abandon stale sprites for delicious eye candy.

 

Man this better be true.

I hope when they mean HD Remake, I hope they don't mean "We ran filters all over" as they did with SS2.

I doubt they're just going upscale a metal slug game to HD. Most likely they're going to remake it from the ground up a la Bionic Commando. At least that's what I hope they're doing.

this is snk we are talking about here not capcom,snk better not fuk this up.I was looking forward to SS2 until i downloaded the demo.theres no way im paying 800ms points for a game wth borders and filters added.i will stick with emulating it on fbaxxx.

This may be an opportunity to put something new from them. When they're considering a remake I just hope it's not synonymous with port.
