kitfox
sorry, I don't know where else to turn with this. If anyone can help me solve either problem I have, I'll be eternally grateful. I've been trying to install Winkawaks for a while so that I can listen to the music in the games I have. However, Winkawaks.exe won't install on my computer. I don't want to test it right now because my computer will crash, but IIRC I can unzip everything in the Winkawaks zip except the .exe and I don't know why that is. Whenever I try to unzip the .exe, I get a blue screen error telling me I need to run a memory check or something like that. I'm looking for a solution that either allows me to listen to the music or one that allows me to use Winkawaks.
Robert
Either you've got a problem with computer or the zip is bad. Winkawaks works fine, make sure you download it from the official site:http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/download.html Unfortunately the site is down right now, due to the usual problems with ztnet hosting. Or you can download from a reputable place such as emulator zone, emuhq or emu-france. Otherwise, you have a big problem in your computer. Try unzipping it on another computer, then you'll know for sure.
Agozer
Sounds like bad RAM or something.
Hard Core Rikki
I personally prefer usage of more optimal applications for just music listening. Keeping an emulator instance running sint as nice as just loading the sound parts, the Winamp way. You can get a utility for that called M1 at Belmont's place. In MAME tradition, it's GUI-less, but you can slap the BridgeM1 GUI on top of it, for a more pleasing experience. I reckon there are 2 other similar apps with the same functionalty, but M1 is apparently the more up-to-date and accurate one, so by no mean a bad pick.
