Was SAMURAI SHODOWN VI ever released in the arcades?

 

I just got the Samurai Shodown Anthology game for the PSP,and noticed that it had Samurai Shodown VI on it.

 

I love to be able to play it on my xbox through a mame emulator if it was released in the arcades.

 

It's brilliant.Has practically every SS character ever released in it.As well as 7 new ones.

Actually it was in certain areas of the us. The Only places I remember playing it was at Chinatown, NY and Philadelphia, PA

Yes, it is released in the arcades here too. But i haven't get the chance to play it yet.

 

Do they still keep the finishers from V special?

Yes, it was released in arcades. But under a different name. It was renamed to SS6 for the english release.

The description on SNK Playmore's official site (snkplaymoreusa.com) says that Samurai Showdown VI sees its North American debut in SS:Anthology. If there are a few places in the US that have it, it was probably an import. I could be wrong, though.
