My computers brand is: 1024 MB DDR2-SDRAM (PC2-4200 / PC2-4300 / 533 MHz) ["SMBUS:0:A0SMBUS:0:A0"]*------------------------------------------------------------------------------*Memory Size*1.00 GB*Memory Type*DDR2-SDRAM (PC2-4200 / PC2-4300 / 533 MHz)*Memory Manufacturer*Samsung*Memory Manufacture Date*Week 9, Year 2007*Memory Part Number*M3 78T2953EZ3-CD5 *Memory Serial Number*030C64EB*Memory Revision Code*4533 I have Two of the above. Now the new RAM, can it be higher than the PC2 4200 like for example :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820134586orhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820134046 If thier is a different brand or type that you guys recommend than go ahead, its just that i heard of kingstone before. im willing to spend 30$ total on the RAM. And also for the HDMI (YES, i got a 32" toshiba LCD!), my computer only has DVI, so should i buy a DVI to HDMI Cord or a HDMI to HDMI and a HDMI to DVI adapter to connect to the LCD. It doesnt have DVI input. I currently connect it through my VGA cord and VGA to DVI converter. Or should i even bother with the HDMI. From what i see on newegg, the cords come as cheap as 10$ so im not really aiming for a top of the line cord, just one that can have a big jump from the vga. ken_cinder Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 You running a 64bit OS? If not, don't even bother putting 4GB of RAM in, especially if you're running a PCI-Express video card. A PCI-E video card on it's own, will reserve 256MB of address space. There's 256MB shaved out of your 4GB right off the top not even considering every other piece of hardware.Go 3GB and save your money if you're only running a 32bit OS. As for HDMI. HDMI IS DVI......with audio on the same cable. Video-wise, there is ZERO difference. Just buy a cheap DVI-HDMI cable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The actual motherboard model number would be helpful, though it looks like you have an NForce 430 based board. I can't tell you for sure until you get me the actual model number of your motherboard, or at least the main chipset, which would be NForce based.
