Ok when I load games using the CPS3 emulator on Windows XP I have no problems. However, when I load games on windows vista, it crashes. I keep reloading the game on vista but it keeps crashing. Any idea on how to fix this problem?

Do you use Aero?

I don't know, maybe CPS3Emulator just doesn't like Vista. Then again, it's not like that emulator is your only option.

Must be your RAM then. I have 4G of Ram. 1.5G is not enough to run Vista and run CPS3 I presume.

I find it hard to believe that one would need 1.5GB of RAM just to run Vista and a fairly simple emulator in it. Not to mention that I've never seen an application crash just because a system supposedly doesn't have enough RAM.

If you ask me, this is another one of those Windows' Weird Incompatibilities™ is raising its ugly head (i.e. some arbitrary hardware/software/driver incompatibility). The crash could be caused by a number of things, but I don't think the lack of RAM has anything to do with it.

It's weird but when I try the CPS3 Test version of the emulator all the games load without a problem. I find it odd that the roms crash when I load them on the final version of the CPS3 emulator.

Well, the only thing i can think of is the memory since I run practically fine without hiccup with 4GB Ram on Vista while his can't.

And i have another PC running Vista with 2.5GB RAM, and I can tell you it loads Vista SLOW

i use xp sp3 and fba to run cps-3 and eats max 100mb ram, mame++ on kaillera eats max 200mb...so ram problems these days and on nt systems is pretty irrelevant, oh and yeah get rid of vista...windowblinds does miracles on xp :banghead:
